DayTimeStrip Privacy Policy

This policy explains how DayTimeStrip, a plugin for Stream Deck, handles your information. DayTimeStrip shows the date (or a clock) and a timer on a Stream Deck key or on a Stream Deck + dial.

Operator: k-five LLC
Contact: support@k-five.co

  • DayTimeStrip does not read your personal data, such as your name, email address, contacts, calendars, location, or the contents of your files.
  • DayTimeStrip does not connect to the internet. It communicates only with the Stream Deck app on the same Mac.
  • There is no account or sign-in, and no developer server. DayTimeStrip sends nothing to k-five LLC.
  • There is no analytics, advertising, or error reporting.
  • The date and time, from your Mac’s clock and local time. DayTimeStrip does not get the time from the network.
  • The language setting of the Stream Deck app, to choose the language of its display.
  • The file names of the macOS system sounds in /System/Library/Sounds, to list the sounds you can choose for the end of a timer. It does not read the contents of these files.

DayTimeStrip uses this information only to show the date, the clock, and your timers on your Stream Deck, to keep your timers running across restarts and sleep, to list the sounds you can choose, and to play the sound you chose when a timer ends or when you preview it in the settings.

DayTimeStrip stores its settings and timer states using the Stream Deck app’s settings, and does not create its own files for them. How and where the Stream Deck app stores its settings is up to the Stream Deck app.

  • Settings for each key or dial: what to show (calendar or clock), the layout, the colors, up to five timer lengths, how the sound plays (once or until stopped), and which sound. DayTimeStrip also adds a random identifier for each key, which does not identify you or your Mac.
  • The state of each timer: such as the end time of a running timer, the time left on a paused timer, the chosen timer length, and when the key was last shown. This lets the timer continue after the Stream Deck app or your Mac restarts, and while your Mac sleeps.

Apart from these, warnings and errors are written to log files in DayTimeStrip’s folder on your Mac.

DayTimeStrip deletes the timer state of keys that have not appeared on your Stream Deck for 30 days. DayTimeStrip does not store personal information. There are no accounts, sign-in tokens, or passwords.

  • DayTimeStrip does not connect to the internet. It communicates only with the Stream Deck app on the same Mac. Its settings window also communicates only with the Stream Deck app and does not load files or fonts from outside.
  • There is no developer (k-five LLC) server, and nothing from DayTimeStrip reaches us.
  • DayTimeStrip has no analytics, advertising, or error reporting.
  • DayTimeStrip does not send its logs off your Mac.
  • When a timer ends, or when you preview a sound in the settings, DayTimeStrip plays it by running the macOS afplay command with that sound file. It does not run any other commands or apps.
  • DayTimeStrip does not ask for macOS privacy permissions, such as access to your calendars, contacts, microphone, camera, screen recording, or accessibility.

DayTimeStrip is a plugin for the Stream Deck app made by Elgato. How the Stream Deck app and the Elgato Marketplace themselves handle information is outside this policy; see Elgato’s privacy policy.

  • To stop using DayTimeStrip, remove it in the Stream Deck app. What is deleted when you remove a plugin or a key depends on the Stream Deck app.
  • Automatically, the timer states of keys that have not appeared on your Stream Deck for 30 days are deleted.
